VELVEETA SALSA DIP
1 lb. Velveeta Pasteurized process
cheese spread, cubed
1 (8 oz.) jar salsa or 1 (10 oz.) can
diced tomatoes and green chilies,
drained
2 tbsp. chopped cilantro (optional)
Microwave: Microwave process cheese spread and salsa or tomatoes and green chilies 1 1/2 quart bowl or HIGH 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring after 3 minutes. Mix in cilantro. Serve hot with tortilla chips. 3 cups. Conventional: Stir process cheese spread and salsa or tomatoes and green chilies over low heat until smooth. Mix in cilantro. Serve hot with tortilla chips. 3 cups. Preparation time: 5 minutes. Microwave cooking time: 5 minutes. Cooking time: 10 minutes.
CREAMY SALSA DIP
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
1 tsp. chili powder
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1 c. tomato, chopped
1/4 c. green onions, chopped
1/4 c. black olives, chopped
1 (4 oz.) can green chilies, drained
(optional)
In small bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, chili powder, and garlic powder; blend until smooth. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Cover; refrigerate to blend flavors. (Best if made the day before!) Serve with nacho chips. If you want to make it thinner add a little sour cream or milk.
