SNOWBALL COOKIES

1/2 c. shortening
4 oz. Baker's Chocolate (unsweetened)
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Melt chocolate in shortening. Add to sugar and vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add other ingredients. Chill. Make balls size of walnuts and roll in powdered sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

SNOWBALL COOKIES

1 c. butter
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. finely chopped nuts

Mix ingredients. Chill dough. Roll into 1 inch balls. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 400 degrees. While warm, roll in confectioners' sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again. Makes about 30 cookies.
