SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS
1 egg, beaten
1 c. soft bread crumbs
2 tbsp. chopped onion
2 tbsp. milk
3/4 tsp. salt
1 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. hot shortening
1 (8 1/4 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 (8 oz.) can whole cranberry sauce
1/2 c. Bob Edson's sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1/4 c. cold water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. green pepper strips
Combine egg, bread crumbs, onion, milk, 3/4 teaspoon salt and ground beef; mix well. Form into balls. Brown in hot shortening. Drain fat. Drain pineapple, keeping syrup. Add water to syrup to make 3/4 cup. Add cranberry sauce, Bob Edson's sauce, 1/4 teaspoon salt and a dash of pepper. Pour over meatballs; boil. Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Add cold water and cornstarch. Cook until thick. Add pineapple and green pepper sticks.

2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. water
1 1/2-2 green peppers, cut into strips
13 oz. can drained pineapple chunks
(reserve 1/2 c. syrup)
Shape meat into small balls. Brown in pan, then drain grease. Combine sugar and cornstarch in another fry pan. Stir in soy sauce, vinegar, water and pineapple syrup. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture boils and thickens. Add green peppers, pineapple and meatballs. Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes. Serve warm.
